Dear Dixon-Smith Parents, Students, and Community,

Welcome to the Dixon-Smith WEB page! This page is part of our ongoing effort to better communicate information regarding our school’s curriculum, student activities, and upcoming events. Along with our monthly newsletter, three week student progress reports, notes from school teams, etc., our hope is that your navigation through these pages will enlighten you and help to make your very busy lives a little less hectic.

Dixon-Smith Middle School utilizes a teaming philosophy. Core area teaching teams allow us to better communicate to our internal and external publics. More importantly, this organizational method enables us to make this fairly large school of 950 students seem much smaller. Depending on grade level, the teams here at Dixon-Smith will range from approximately fifty to one hundred twenty-five students. This school within a school concept greatly enhances our ability to get to know the strengths and weaknesses of individual students and to plan accordingly.

I am very proud of the accomplishments of Dixon-Smith Middle School.  Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions for our WEB pages.

Again, I thank you for your support of our many school initiatives. Have a great year!

                                                                        Sincerely,

                                                Stephen L. Trant
